After an injury filled Motocross Championship where Metcalfe took 5th overall, he is looking forward to getting into the Supercross rhythm.
“I know we can get hurt in racing but twice in one championship makes it hard to deal with. Breaking my back and then my hand made it impossible to be a title contender, which is something I had to begrudgingly accept. Moving into Supercross mode gives us all a refreshed mind set and I am hungry for victory!” commented Metcalfe.
The team is focused on the up and coming Australian Supercross Championship, where team director Yarrive Konsky knows there is a target on their backs for this upcoming season.
“We have won 5 Championships in a row across both classes. We know we have a target on our backs as we chase our 4th SX1 overall win; however our mindset is the completely opposite to what people think. We work as though we are the underdogs, as though we are outside of the top five. We are mindful of the teams and riders we are lining up against. It’s the unpredictability of the end result that pushes us to work harder each year,” said Konsky.
Brett Metcalfe is eager to get back out there and hopes to do one better this year.
“Finishing 2nd to Justin last year lit a fire in my belly. No one likes finishing second; I know there are a lot of fast guys racing this year but I aim to be one of them,” Metcalfe finished.
