“The last round was positive for the team and the last few weeks between rounds have been great. My mechanic Scott Lillis has stayed with me in South Australia to help me prepare for Maitland this coming weekend. The testing and training has been very positive and I feel we have made advancements,” said Metcalfe.
Team Manager, Jason Waters is pleased with Metcalfe’s progress and what has been achieved since Gympie.
“Brett and Scott have been working closely with Factory KYB and our local suspension technician Martin Ritchie from Krooztune. Together they have made great gains. Brett is feeling more confident and we are hoping for another podium finish this weekend,” Waters said.
Whilst the Championship has been challenging this year, the team feel confident that they are moving in the right direction and rounding out the MX season on top is still within grasp.
“We believe in Brett, we haven’t forgotten about his achievements and we know he is focused on the title. The past few weeks have been quite progressive with suspension and tyre testing so the total package has improved,” said team director Yarrive Konsky.
Round 7 of the MX Nationals will be held on a newly designed track in Maitland. The Maitland Motocross Club has done a fantastic job re-building their track and Metcalfe is keen to get out there.
“Gympie had so many positives, the venue is world class and they did a great job for their first event. For Maitland, I have seen the work
they are putting in and I can’t wait to ride and race on the new track, it’s going to be a solid weekend of racing.” Metcalfe finished.
